Home Decor Fall Decorations

Home Decor Fall Decorations

The fall season is upon us, time to break out the sweaters and jeans and put away the summer clothes. Now is the time to be out at night around a nice fire with family and friends cooking up some sweet snacks or tasty treats. Summer has finally given up its hold and relinquished control to cooler days and crisp nights.

As the season’s change so will the items we use to make our homes ours. With home decor fall decorations you can add rich colors, fall blooms, wall art and new scents. The leaves this time of year are changing colors and you will see red, orange-red, reddish-brown, yellow, brown-yellow, golden bronze and scarlet red. Of course the colors you see will depend on what trees and bushes you have in the area you live.

Also with this time of year are the new candle scents that are being introduced. Some of the scents I have seen are Autumn in the Park, Crisp Morning Air, Sweater Weather, Marshmallow Fireside, Pumpkin Pit Stop and Apple Tree Picnic.

We cannot forget the flowers that bloom in the fall. These perennials are Aster, Red Spider Lily, Fall Crocus and Toad Lily and will be back year after year for our pleasure and enjoyment. Not to mention their decorative properties.

There are many ways to incorporate these items in and out of our home. We can have candle holders in the house or on the patio for the scent’s of fall. Try putting flowering plants in pots or planters on the patio or the side of walkways for adding color. You can also cut the flowers and bring them in the house and display them in vases for adding color and aroma to any room. Finding different color leaves and arranging them in a basket would look nice as a centerpiece on the dining room table. The best way to arrange the leaves would be by color and size like you do for flowers. Another idea for the basket would be to use different types, sizes and colors of gourds arranged in the basket with some leaves for accent. If you have fir trees nearby you may be able to find some pine cones to use in your ideas.

Wall art depicting fall scenes can be displayed for added charm. Art that I’ve seen lately are Iris in Bloom, cattail marsh, winter tree, autumn leaves, fall medley and golden autumn walk. These can be just metal cutouts or actual paintings with bright colors.
