After browsing runway shows and lookbooks all day, trend prediction sort of becomes second nature. Most of the time I’m preoccupied with the fashion items gaining momentum, but of course, fashion always has a way of spilling out into the design world.
Like the “it” items that become a force within the fashion crowd, there are a few home decor pieces that have become so commonplace it’s hard to ignore their rising popularity. Among them, designer Sabine Marcelis’s funky drip mirrors and Dusen and Dusen’s printed coverlets. There are also a whole lot more items that have caught the affections of tastemakers around the globe. Consider this a forecast of the pieces destined to make a huge splash and become commonplace on your feed sooner or later. Keep scrolling to check out the full list.
Urban Outfitters Soleil Rays Plate ($14)
The decorative edges are sure to make any meal stand out.
Pols Potten Gold Drip Candle Holder ($70)
Pols Potten’s drip candle holder is a big hit among Scandi girls. It’s more difficult to find, but the unique drip shape is worth it.
Target Ceramic Bowl Pink ($25)
Ceramic bowls like this have been trending steadily, and are usually twice the price.
Dusen Dusen Hepta Coverlet Set ($298)
A cool, graphic coverlet is the perfect motivator to *actually* make the bed.
Kiosk 48th Recycled Box Stool ($295)
If you’ve ever followed any home decor accounts on IG, chances are you’ve seen something from Kiosk 48th. The Danish multi-concept store creates unique home objects from cutlery to lamps, and now their popular stools have landed stateside at New York-based design store Bi-rite Studio.
Dusen Dusen Flower Pillow Cover ($74)
I’ve been noticing this pillow more and more in the background of fashion girl’s pictures, so its a matter of time before it blows up.
Urban Outfitters Isla Daisy Goblet ($14)
Anytime is a good time for a fancy goblet—these are so pretty and elevated.
Cold Picnic Goddess of Mercy ($210)
The brand is already an industry go-to for one-of-a-kind rugs, and this design from its latest collection is sure to sell out.
Loewe Scented Sticks ($240)
Loewe just released a new lineup of home scents, and I have a strong inkling this will be the new Byredo candle.
Helle Mardahl Bon Bon Glass Plate ($268)
Helle Mardahl’s bonbon cups are already a cult favorite, so I have my eyes on the designer’s plate as the next big thing.
Curves by Sean Brown Greatest Albums of All Time Blanket ($250)
For avid music fans, you’ll want to get familiar with Sean Brown. The Canadian creative recently dabbled into the home decor space with a line of rugs and textiles incorporating images of popular albums, and it’s so good.
Sabine Marcelis Glaze Splash Small Mirror ($458)
It’s near impossible to be into design without knowing hearing the name Sabine Marcelis. The Dutch designer’s creations are a hot commodity among celebs and typically range in the thousands. In collaboration with Rira Objects, Marcelis recently released a collection of mirrors with funky colorful splash designs. Although still a splurge, the mirrors are more affordable than the designer’s famed candy cube side tables and are more accessible—currently available at Matches and The Webster.
Isamu Noguchi Akari Light Sculpture ($200)
The paper lamp trend continues.
Niko June Large Eros Torso 20 Vase ($130)
I’ve had this vase on my wishlist since first spotting it on Marie Jedig’s Instagram account a few months ago, and have seen it appear in the background of more and more content creators’ pictures.
Vintage on Point Mushroom Ottoman in Brown Boucle ($450)
Not sure about you, but I haven’t been able to escape mushroom-themed home decor lately, and stools like this are especially favorites..
Urban Outfitters Zuzu Braided Jute Rug ($189)
One decor micro-trend I’ve noticed is a shift towards patterned jute rugs. Use them to add an earthy element to your space.
Colville Striped Wool-Blend Blanket ($560)
I can’t get over the fun colorblocking.
Normann Bogin Mirror Large Purple ($1180)
Scandi girls love a whimsical mirror (ie Gustaf Westman’s Curvy Mirror), and this one from has next.
Verner Panton Wire Floor Lamp (810)
A lamp that truly speaks for itself.
Cb2 Brace Leather Chair ($1999)
The remergence of Tobia Scarpa’s Soriana chair and Ligne Roset’s Togo chairs have set the stage for low-slung chairs to make a comeback, so I have high hopes for this one from CB2.
Sophie Lou Jacobsen Pink Handle Vase ($230)
A vase of dreams.
Rira Liquidish Medium Gazeuse (380)
Designed by Rira, these colorful bowls can be used on display on a cool coffee table or as a catchall.
Hem x Faye Toogood Puffy Lounge Chair ($1749)
I wouldn’t mind sitting on this squishy surface all day.
